Vineyard

Located in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, our high-altitude vineyard sits at 3,600 feet in the foothills of the snow-capped Andes. Our winegrowing subappellation is the prestigious IG, or Indicación Geográfica, Los Chacayes, known for its distinctive terroir. Set on an ancient alluvial fan, or riverbed, the vineyard’s gravelly, rocky soils yield wines of remarkable character, defined by structure, fresh acidity, and expressive tannins.

High-Elevation Terroir

In this environment, the climate is forceful, with high summer temperatures and freezing winters that contribute to the bold flavors of our fruit. Due to the quality of our terroir, fruit not used in our own winemaking is sold to other prestigious Argentine producers. Our barrels come from vineyard blocks that are painstakingly pruned and managed, intentionally limiting our yields in order to drive quality.

Mountain Splendor

This venture is driven not so much by our desire to make wine as it is by our stewardship of Hawthorn Vineyard. It takes us a full 24 hours to travel there. When we arrive, we are overcome by a profound respect for the beauty of our planet. As our children fish and ride horseback in the shadow of the Andes, we feel grateful for this magnificent place.
